Eyes wide shut for ladies is the only way they can affectively tune in with their partner. Lean in, close your eyes, and kis

. No matter how kisses differ in partners, in levels of passion, it seems as if ladies have all been trained to never (repeat: never) open their eyes during a kiss.

Humans are not that adept at using all of their senses simultaneously.

You likely close your eyes instinctively during a kiss, because performing a challenging visual task could reduce your ability to comprehend stimuli associated with the other senses – in this case, touch.

Basically, the brain appreciates the touch of your partner’s lips even more when your eyes are closed, since it has fewer outside stimuli to focus on.

So, when you close your eyes to prepare for a kiss, you only do so in the name of feeling the kiss, which your brain subconsciously decided was more important than seeing the kiss.

It is why you close your eyes during other pleasurable moments, like when you are really feeling a particularly moving song or eating your favorite meal. (‘Mmmmm …..!’).

Do not trust a lover who kisses you without closing their eyes.

Like other Kubrick movies, the film was noted for its use of classical music. The opening title music is Shostakovich’s Waltz No. 2 from ‘Suite for Variety Stage Orchestra’.

Beginning in 1958 Shostakovich suffered from a debilitating condition that particularly affected his right hand, eventually forcing him to give up piano playing; in 1965 it was diagnosed as poliomyelitis

He also suffered heart attacks the following year and again in 1971, and several falls in which he broke both his legs; in 1967 he wrote in a letter:

Target achieved so far: 75% (right leg broken, left leg broken, right hand defective). All I need to do now is wreck the left hand and then 100% of my extremities will be out of order.

Shostakovich suffered from chronic ill health, but he resisted giving up cigarettes and vodka. Shostakovich died of lung cancer on 9 August 1975.
