I was pretty tired yesterday and I actually had quite a good sleep on the bench at the airport termianl. I had the bathrooms on the lower level just ten meters from my bench, an automatic water dispenser on the ground floor just fifty meters from my bench and the food court on the first floor just hundred meters from my bench, I had internet access, cable television, access to flights within Brazil and access to a bus to Manaus. The airport was new and clean, was spacious and the amount of passengers was acceptable, at no time there were excessive queues, neither at the check in counters nor at Bobs Burger or Pizza Hut.

I packed my backpack and waited outside for the bus to the center of the city and the port. Bus number 306 took some time to pick me up at the airport and when we arrived the city was already very busy, but breakfast was still available. I had a Maracuja juice and another one and went across the street to take some pictures of some old port warehouses on area which served now as parking. A man spotted me and offered me tickets for the tourist boat tour to the attractions of the Amazon River here in Manaus.

I was looking for a ticket to Tabatinga and he brought me to a sales correspondent. She offered the ticket at 350 Reales, ten tickets left for this Wednesday, December 23rd and only cash. I wanted to compare and went to the ticket office at the entrance to the passenger port; she offered the ticket at 350 Reales, ten tickets left for this Wednesday, December 23rd and only cash.

I had withdrawn this morning only 150 Reales at the airport and had to go to the main street quickly to withdraw another 350 Reales to buy one of the last ten the tickets, I did not want to miss the only boat to Tabatinga before the end of the year. I had more confidence in the lady at ticket office; she had access to a computer and was simply in an office at the entrance to the passenger port whereas the first lady had an on street office with a desk and an umbrella. I rushed to the bank, rushed back, paid the 350 Reales and had my ticket. I had been hoping to stay in Manaus just for a day, my ticket now meant four more days. I would be staying at the airport for the next days, actually make the airport my home and work to really catch up with the work on the project, at least all days of my adventure and disaster to Mount Roraima.

I went back to the bus stop, had a look at the map and waited at the indicated area. Bus number 306 took some time again and he did not pick me up at the indicated location but at the end brought me back to the airport, to my home. I bought an internet plan for six hours and started working. Looking at the pictures from my adventure to Mount Roraima made me realize how quickly I had lost five kilogram and how quickly I had gained five kilogram back again. The whole idea of the diet was for me to continue with a healthy and variable diet after my adventure to Mount Roraima, but already here at the airport I did not have access to a supermarket and I had to eat what was available; my stomach was back to normal, my hunger was back to normal both in volume and time and it was time for dinner. My decision for the meal tonight was an economic and definitely not a healthy decision, Bobs Burger, the Hamburger Trio with refill for fifteen Reales, this time again with refill.
