I took the same bus as on the previous days, did not get off at the bridge hoping the bus would go towards the beaches on the other side of the city, passed the castle San Felipe but then drove further inland, away from the center, away from the beaches. I looked out the window and saw Mount La Popa with its monastery in the distant, one of the sightseeing destinations which I wanted to visit before leaving Cartagena de Indias. I got off the bus and walked to the bottom of Mount La Popa.

Already here the moto taxi drivers warned me to not walk up alone; I thought, obviously you want to get a tour. Now two more local men warned me; I thought, obviously you want to earn a commission of the moto taxi drivers. But when two police officers on a motorcycle stopped and insisted to guide me up I had to open my eyes and realize that I was wrong and everybody else was right, the neighborhood was dangerous and with my backpack and my camera I was the perfect target. But if security was such an issue I decided that I did not want to climb up anymore, turned around and walked back to the center.

The center was very quiet on this Sunday morning, shops and commercial malls were all closed and no tourists were around exploring the historical center. I walked towards the harbor and then towards the beaches on the other side of the town. The city changed, the skyline changed, a new and modern skyline, similar to the skyline of all the huge Brazilian coastal cities that I know, with its hundreds of towers frontline beach.

On this Sunday in this part of the city the streets were busy and the beaches were full. I walked all the way to the end of the promenade, the end of the peninsula Bocagrande where the ocean meets the bay. It was hot, the backpack was heavy and I had to have a rest here and there. I had been walking a lot and was getting tired, thirsty and hungry and took a bus back to the center.

I had a Colombian potato and an orange juice and went to the cyber to have a look if it was open. Frank had promised me yesterday that he would open, not necessarily the usual opening hour but at some point during the day. Frank was not there yet; he was probably having lunch with his family and would come later in the afternoon. I walked to the same bench like yesterday and had a Siesta for 1 hour in the shade. I got up and had a second look at the cyber but Frank was not there. I walked a small tour through the historical center for 1 hour, went back for the third time to the cyber but Frank was still not there and would not come today.

I had recharged the battery for the camera and the GoPro this morning and wanted to secure a good spot at the Café del Mar again to take more pictures of the sunset. I just needed the spot of the English/Colombian couple from yesterday and when I arrived the spot was still vacant, so I put my backpack there. The technicians started to build up the stands for the lights and the loudspeakers right next to me and plugged both into an electricity stabilizer. 2 plugs of the electricity stabilizer were still empty and I needed one badly for the battery of the camera. The battery was about to die, the battery now did not last for a full day anymore.

The tourists started to arrive and I had to offer my spot several times to couples, families or just friends to take pictures of themselves, take Selfies with the sun setting in the background.

The mix of chill out music started; I had the perfect spot, good music, a stunning sunset, fewer clouds at the horizon and less dust in the air than yesterday to take better pictures, I hope. Today there was no way I could have forgotten my cable for the computer, Frank had not come to work today. He would come tomorrow, tomorrow is Monday.
