When I told my baby Matilda that I would be seeling her sailing boat she was sad, she did not cry but she was sad and I had to promise to buy another one. I promised to her and to myself. The idea behind the promise was to buy a small motor boat to stay here in Natal at the Iate Clube. A motor boat is easier to maintain, easier to drive, child friendly and more wind and wave friendly than a sailing boat.

I did not want to give up on sailing but I had made my mind up and had decided for a catamaran in one of the French overseas departments, French Polynesia, Guadalupe, Martinique, La Reunion or Mayotte. Without a question, French Polynesia was my favorite, Tahiti or Moorea, Bora Bora or Raiatea. I could see myself living on my small mobile home in the Pacific Ocean, learning French, learning scuba diving, learning fishing and learning more about myself.
