I did not like the situation to have to decide between my sailing professor Alexandre or on the sailor-mechanic-carpenter Walmir to join me in my small big adventure. Both had been part of my sailing history here in Natal, both had become friends, both had their correct price but I had to decide on one or the other because I had only so much money to spend and could not pay both, unfortunately, very, very unfortunately and it came down to a pure, cold, economic decision. I hated the situation, I hated myself, I hated my economic situation, and I hated my ex-partner because he could not keep the dates of the agreed payment.

Now that I had sold my sailing boat, I started to really enjoy the time at the Iate Clube. No obligations anymore, no reforms anymore, no maintenance anymore, just watching the river, watching the stream pass by, timeless, peaceful, into the sunset, up to total darkness and all this in the company of my baby Matilda. Everything in life has a meaning and that is why I probably had to give up on my project Rio 2016 so I could be with my baby Matilda and enjoy life at its best, enjoy nature at its best and enjoy the upcoming sunset.

Now that I had sold my sailing boat, I started to review my sailing career and question my real intentions and it had become clear to me that my final goal in sailing was to live on a catamaran in the harbor of a small village on an island in the Pacific, in the Caribbean or in the Mediterranean. Ideally just live and enjoy life, learn another language, understand a new culture, experience new delicious food, snorkel the waters, maybe offer some weekend tours and meet new people and hopefully some old friends and watch the sunset.
