So if it is not about your guests, and it is about you, why is it not the most important day of your life?
Because it is a moment. It is a 5 or 6 hour long party and usually a 12-16 hour long day. All you hear from brides that went through it is how fast it went and how much they feel they missed. The day can easily become a blur.
To put so much pressure on one day to be the most important day ever and then have it fly by where you can not remember the details, is setting yourself up for disaster.
Not only will you regret labeling it as ‘the best day’ ever on the actual wedding day, but you will be miserable during the planning process and even more miserable when paying the bills after the party ends and all that is left are the photographs.
You might regret it even more once you get those photographs back and see moments you missed because you were doing everything in your power to enjoy this best day of your life.
Rosemere de Nascimento, 32, from Sao Paulo, Brazil, planned to surprise her fiancé Udirley Damasceno, who was waiting at the altar.
All brides have a dream and hers was to arrive by helicopter to their wedding without anyone knowing.
Rosemere is laughing and smiling as the helicopter takes off. It ends with the heartbreaking disaster that killed her, her brother, the pilot and a pregnant photographer.
After an initial bout of turbulence, her brother exclaims in distress.’Mercy, Lord!’ he repeats as the pilot tells him to remain calm and the bride smiles nervously.
As the turbulence seems to worsen, the bride and her brother close their eyes tightly and clench their jaws.
The camera turns to the pilot’s hand as he seems to try to steady the helicopter before an alarm goes off and the picture shakes uncontrollably.
There is a glimpse of the bride’s dress, the inside of the helicopter and the foggy sky outside as the passengers scream.
Calm, calm, calm, the pilot says before the helicopter swivels completely out of control, crashing to the ground.
The camera continues to record after the impact and the last image is of the ground after the crash.
Birds can be heard chirping in the distance.
