Love is a natural state. It does not come and go. It is the ever present baseline, the only truth, but it is only known when nothing disturbs it, when nothing unnatural is temporarily added.
Judgment divides and separates, creating a You and I, while Love does not see a difference.
The Ego does look upon enlightenment as its ultimate acquisition for itself, however if attained, there will be surprise that there are no others to not be enlightened. Enlightenment is the dissolution of me.
I used to be in love with Love. I love a good story, I love children, I love falling in Love, I love my family, my friends, the beach …. these things I thought I could love endlessly.
It was quite a shock to me to learn that all the things I love in reality are not Love at all.
Love thy enemies as thyself? Love God and Jesus? Love yourself? – Love someone whom I did not like or who was unkind to me.
Love entities I had never laid eyes on and was not even sure if they are real. This Love was a concept I could not make rational sense of.
Through this Awareness, I understood the importance of redefining the word Love to more of what would be its true essence. As spoken through the words of the Dalai Lama
Love is the absence of judgment
Absence of judgment – simply meaning do not judge, no good or bad or right or wrong. Total acceptance of another’s behavior, someones circumstances, without the need to change or define.
At the same time, being in the same total acceptance for whatever your behavior or circumstance may bring up in you.
