The struggle with new endeavors derives from fear. Fear of failure. Fear of criticism or ridicule. Fear of inadequacy.

Fear of the unknown. Fear of admitting that your current state, path, or actions do not align with your aspirations.

Fear can prevent you from your true desire and the steps needed to get there

Fear can be potent enough that you avoid change altogether by justifying your current behaviors or modifying your beliefs.

Fear is an inevitable part of life and especially of growth.

If you want to improve and evolve, recognizing, naming, and even embracing your fears can reduce the likelihood they will hijack your behavior and derail your efforts.

Once you manage your fears, you must acknowledge that progress is also impossible without resistance.

Resistance is the individual and cumulative total of all the challenges you need to overcome in order to make progress.

Depending on the new endeavor, you might have to unlearn old habits or develop new ones, solve new problems, learn new programs or skills, or build physical or mental strength and endurance.

To overcome your fear or resistance, you must just start doing the things of which you are afraid. You see, the overcoming is in the action. It is in the doing.

By doing the things that are causing the resistance, the hesitation, the fear; you reprogram your mind. The emotional part of your mind follows your actions, so that is how you reprogram.

You will stutter, stumble, and fall. But, mastering your fears and moving through the different points of resistance toward our outcome cultivates both strength and resilience.

Strength and resilience enable growth. The process can be exhausting, but it can also shift to become exhilarating
