Room 8 is a 2013 short film written and directed by James W. Griffiths, who won the 67th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) as the best short film.
A prisoner discovers a magical box with a baneful secret that he falls foul to.
Room 8 does not invite us to invest any emotion in the characters or story. All the while we are led towards an awesome revelation; an awesome effect.
And all the while we are asking, but why is this happening? Why is the antagonist doing what he is doing?
The story takes place inside a Russian prison where Ives a British prisoner is taken to a new cell and there he meets a man who protests to not to open a red box that he finds inside the cell.
Unable to fight his Curiosity he ignores the man and opens the box only to find something mysterious and the rest happens to be the end of the story.
Curiosity is associated with all aspects of Human development, in which derives the process of learning and the desire to acquire knowledge and skill.
Like other desires, Curiosity is linked with exploratory behavior and experiences of reward. Curiosity can be described as positive emotions and acquiring knowledge.
